   2.    Amway Corporation $8.2 Billion

Los Angeles-based public company Herbalife (HFL—NYSE) sells its products through more than 1.9 million independent distributors who conduct business worldwide.

   5.   Mary Kay Inc. $2.4 Billion

From its humble beginnings in a 500-square-foot Dallas storefront, Mary Kay Inc. has grown into one of the largest direct sellers of skin care and color cosmetics in the world, with a global independent sales force exceeding 1.8 million.

   6.   Primerica Financial Services Inc. $2.3 Billion

Based in Duluth, Ga., private firm Primerica Financial Services—a subsidiary of public parent company Citi (C—NYSE)—boasts the largest salesforce in the financial services industry. There are approximately 100,000 licensed, independent Primerica representatives across the United States (including Puerto Rico), Canada and Spain.

   7.   Tupperware Brands Corporation $2.21 Billion

Publicly traded Tupperware Brands Corporation (TUP—NYSE), based in Orlando, Fla., sells storage and serving products through Tupperware, and beauty and personal care products through Avroy Shlain, BeautiControl, Fuller, NaturCare, Nutrimetics, Nuvo and Swissgarde.

   8.   Forever Living Products International Inc. $2.1 Billion

Private firm Forever Living Products, based in Scottsdale, Ariz., sells aloe vera drinks and aloe verabased aromatherapy products, cosmetics, dietary and nutritional supplements, lotion, soap and tooth gel products in some 135 markets. 

   9.   Oriflame Cosmetics $1.68 Billion

Swedish company Oriflame offers high-quality skin care, fragrances, color cosmetics, toiletries and accessories. Oriflame has grown rapidly, recently opening two markets—Iran and China. 

  10.  Natura Cosmeticos SA $1.52 Billion

São Paulo, Brazil-based firm Natura Cosmeticos SA is traded on the São Paulo Stock Exchange (NATU3). Natura operates in the Chile, Peru, Argentina, Mexico, Colombia and Venezuela. It manufactures deodorants, sunscreens, lotions, creams, lipsticks and perfumes.  

  11.  Nu Skin Enterprises Inc. $1.23 Billion

Provo, Utah-based publicly traded company Nu Skin Enterprises Inc. (NUS—NYSE) markets personal care products under the Nu Skin® brand; science-based nutritional supplements under the Pharmanex® brand; and technology-based products and services under the Big Planet® brand.

The Billion Dollar Bonus

Although we did not include Keller Williams Realty in the official Billion Dollar

Club, the company deserves to be mentioned in this story. Though Keller Williams’ corporate office reports annual revenue of $119 million in 2007, the company’s 70,000 agents generated $3 billion in transaction commissions. Ignite $800+ Million

Dallas-based private company Ignite is a subsidiary of electricity and natural gas provider Stream Energy. When Texas’s electricity market was deregulated in

2001, Stream Energy saw an opportunity. It chose direct selling as its marketing method, and Ignite was born in 2005. Already, the company is predicting more than $800 million in revenue for 2008.

Network Marketing Success is dependent on a variety of factors. Company leadership, training systems,compensation plans and product offerings all must be carefully evaluated. Their is one strategy, however, that is crucial to the success of a network marketing business. This article will reveal that strategy.

It is amazing how many individuals involved with network marketing fail to follow up with prospects. Or, if they do follow up with a prospect, they go about it in a counter productive manner. Proper follow-up is a skill that must be learned, yet few companies train distributors thoroughly on the topic.

Most Network Marketing Companies have an “instant gratification” mentality.

For a prospect to make the decision to become part of an organization, several aspects of their lives must be in order. They must have the time to work the business, the money to fund the business, and the desire to make the business successful.

When you first review your opportunity with a prospect, only a small percentage will be in a position to make a firm decision. Their current circumstances prevent them from starting a business.

But, circumstances change!

Enter, your secret weapon. And, that secret weapon is strategic follow-up. To effectively follow-up, subscribing to a good autoresponder service is a must. Sending e-mails on a regualr basis is a great way to keep in touch with your prospects.

Never send e-mails that are pushy and overly promotional. Your prospects will just get turned off, and they will stop accepting your messages. Rather, send your prospects useful information and helpful resources. If you write articles, sending prospects links to your best articles establishes you as an expert.

Informing your prospects of upcoming company events, and new product offerings can also be effective. After you have established yourself as a trusted resource, it is perfectly okay to approach your prospects about your opportunity again.

Who knows, they may approach you first!

Continue to send e-mails to your prospects indefinitely. You want to reach your prospect at the exact time that they are ready to make a decision. Timing is everything!

In conclusion, just because a prospect says “no”to your offering initially,  does not mean they will never be interested in your business. Lives change. Priorities change. The key to network marketing success is “gentle” persistence. You want your opportunity fresh on the mind of a prospect when they are ready to take action.

The Recipe For The Perfect Energy Drink

Energy drinks are a booming market, with little 3 ounce bottles of “five hour energy’ potions vanishing off the shelves of convenience stores in increasing amounts.  Given the market success of various versions of these products, it only makes sense that someone would try to MLMify them.

Now, the key to any MLM prospect is the pitch; you have to promise something that the competition doesn’t have, something that’s not available in stores.  What Yoli is doing is making the pitch that the vitamins that give the energy boost aren’t ‘fresh’ because of how they’re stored.  The argument is that vitamin solutions break down because they’re pasteurized and stored in water, where the compounds will slowly degrade.  

The numbers they cite are that energy drinks lose 80% or more of their effectiveness after sitting in the bottle for 30 days, and the dose given on the label is what was there when the product was manufactured, not what it may be after it’s been stored in a warehouse and shipped to your store.

Their solution is Yoli Blast caps, which are freeze dried concentrates of the various compounds needed for an energy drink that screw onto a bottle and are shaken, allowing mixing right before the drink is consumed, and promising greater doses.   It’s a decent pitch.  The resulting energy drinks are quite tasty, and seem to be more effective than the store bought ones, though that’s hard to definitively measure, since ‘energy’ from an energy drink is very much a subjective experience.

Yoli’s other health claim on the product is that their blast caps have live enzymes that help nutrient uptake, and have boosted anti-oxidants in their mix, as well as some probiotic compounds.  They also use a natural sugar blend that’s less likely to trigger problems for diabetes, and they’re comparatively low sugar.  (Compare this to Gatorade and its knockoffs, which have more sugar per fluid ounce than soda does.)

Touching on a health idea from a few years ago, Yoli blast caps also contain a formula that helps reduce the pH of the body’s natural systems, which is meant to counteract the oxidizing effects of most processed foods.  There are health gurus that claim that making the human body a bit more alkali will solve every problem from rheumatoid arthritis to athletes foot to post-partum depression, and Yoli is capitalizing on that information.

About the only thing that Yoli doesn’t promise out of their blast caps is a colon cleansing regimen, or that it will help you lose weight or be an appetizer suppression.  Which is fine; the usual rule of thumb is that extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence.

The primary pitch for Yoli is freshness and convenience, and there’s a certain novelty value involved in screwing a blast cap onto a bottle of water, shaking it and seeing the contents diffuse through the bottle.  No doubt, the people who buy heavily into Yoli and make it a lifestyle choice will be solid adherents, and will do their part to spread the word.

Depending on which mlm you join, you will most likely receive lots of support to help you get started. You just have to pick whichever MLM business you think is right for you.

Success in Network Marketing!

After the 15 years in the Network Marketing Industry and helping mentor others to have success in this industry here’s some advice I can offer to those not only looking for a home based business in Network Marketing but more importantly having success in Network Marketing.

Here are a few things I looked for in a company:

1. Timing. Timing is 100% critical to maximize every leveraged dollar out of an opportunity. It’s extremely important to me to find and work with an emerging company that is more than a year old and hasn’t yet gone into critical mass, this is timing.

2. Product Line. The product line needed to be an extremely unique and consumable where people are willing to purchase the product month in and month out for a life time.

3. Upline/Sponsor. You need to find the right upline that will work with you and your personality. Chose an sponsor and upline you can trust that will be there to help you build you business. In network marketing you’re in business for yourself but not by yourself. Having the right sponsor and upline will be a major key to how much success you will have. Do your homework and find the group that has the most growth in the company. I’ve been a part of both in my experiences in network marketing, the top group and the lower group. I’ve had a lot more success when I’m with the #1 group in the company. The top group will have proven success systems and a formula for duplication. If you follow their system and do what they are doing you will have a higher chance for greater income.

4. Getting Started and Formulating a Contact List. Yes, it’s imperative to make a list of your top 20 prospects you would want as business partners and I can’t emphasize enough don’t prejudge anyone! If you have a tough time coming up with 20 names contact your upline and ask them for help, that is what they are there for, to help you out. Most successful networkers will provide the downline with free leads. We do that with our group. With our group we provide free leads for all those who want to be active in building a business. After the list is established it’s time to get to work and start calling on your prospects. You can come up with your own script or your upline leaders should provide you one. When making the calls if you’re not comfortable doing these calls by yourself ask your sponsor or you upline leader to do some three way prospecting call with you. If your upline is unwilling to make calls with you find an upline that will!

5. Fear of Rejection (Someone saying “no” to you). You’re going to get some no’s and your going to visit with some negative people at times, you can’t let this get you down as a person. An important solution to overcoming the fear of rejection was pointed out to me a few years back. I was told to put myself in a third person position, like an actor when prospecting. To better explain how to do this, prior to making telephone calls draw a line down the middle of a piece of paper, on one side of the paper write your name, on the other side of the piece of paper write your name with “the networker” behind it. When making calls you are “the networker”. Whatever anybody says to you as the networker should not have any effect on your wellbeing as a person. Remember, you’re a networker, any negative things said to you as a networker should not have any effect on you as a person.

6. When some gives you a “No”, it means “No, not at this time”.

An example of this is maybe the first time you called the prospect they told you no, I’m not looking or I don’t want to. A month later at work their boss gave a person in the office who does the same work you do a buck an hour more pay raise that they got. You happen to call the prospect that night and the prospect is might be a little more open at this time than he was a month ago. Because of this your prospect might now give you a different response like “Yes, what do you have?”

The best advice I give to those who really desire success in this industry is you must commit to “change”. A friend said this to me years ago, “If you don’t change you direction you liable to end up where you’re headed.” In 1992 I took this to heart and made that change. Most successful networkers in the industry will agree you need to change you habits and your direction if you really want change to happen in your life. Things just don’t happen by accident, if you continue to do the same routine and not committing to change your life won’t change. You must really be committed and devoted to changing your way of living and this start by committing a couple hours a day strictly to your new business venture. These changes can be during the day, examples are: When driving to and from work instead of listening to the radio or playing music call a prospect or listen to educational information that will help you with your new business. Another example is to schedule lunch meeting with a prospect. The biggest challenge will be in the evening, give the TV a break, Dancing With The Stars will get you nowhere!. Make a commitment and devote 2-3 hours a night to prospecting and working with your organization. The more time you can commit to your business the faster you will build your business. From the day you make the decision to get started make a commitment over the next 6-12 months to devote 2-3 hours a night 3-4 days a week. These hours should be telephone prospecting and self-education on products, training, personal development.
