Which is the best business to do in spare time?
Hi I am working 8 hrs. Which is the best business to do in a spare time. Some says MLM some says insurance.
Credit cards, bank loans? or any other business.
Which is more profitable.
need advice
MLM is difficult to win at unless you get into a really good company early. And even then it is iffy at best. You have to constantly recruit new members and keep in contact with them and keep them motivated to bring in more and more people to your downstream. It is alot more work than people realize, but in all fairness, some people do extremely well for themselves.
Insurance, credit cards and bank loans all require SELLING to a skeptical market. You will get alot of tire kickers just looking for an idea of what is available, but are not ready to make any commitments. You will waste alot of your time for no return.
Do you have a specific talent or knowledge you could market? Do you really enjoy doing something that people would pay for?
I was working a nine to five day job most of my adult life. One day, while powerwashing my car, I thought, Why can’t I do this for a side business? And it worked out pretty well. I’m not suggesting you jump into powerwashing, but the point is, I was doing this for years without giving it a second thought. Think about the things you do every day or every week. Would someone be willing to pay you for that service?
You might be surprised at what you come up with.
Good Luck.

Home Based Mlm Business - Find out what the 3% of successful entrepreneurs are doing!
It is 2010. It’s hard to imagine that we are already into the second decade of the 21st century. Some people look at this time of year as bad and others good. We all have our new years resolutions. I would like to submit that one of the resolutions that anyone involved in any kind of Mlm Business should be to resolve to practice good MLM Management. A part of MLM Management that should be focused on this time of year is the tax deductions that can and should be taken on your income taxes due in - you guessed it - 3 1/2 months or sooner (Article written 1/2/2010).
You should have been keeping good records of your expenses and income. A network marketer is considered an independent contractor and therefore is self employed in the eyes of Uncle Sam. Being self employed you are responsible for paying your own taxes. My recommendation is to pay quarterly if you are making any income online. This will save you a lot of headache at the end of the year. Be sure to keep meticulous notes of the income that you receive but especially make note of the expenses.
Expenses can get away from you when you are on the internet. It is easy to buy an ebook here and an inexpensive software program there, but if you are not keeping track of those expenses, you will have a hard time deciding how much you actually spent during the year and most likely will not claim all that you could have if you kept meticulous records. It’s not really that hard, just an excel spreadsheet notation every time you make a purchase.
The following is a list of the expenses that can be claimed and even should be claimed for good MLM Management. This list is assuming that you are working out of your home but can be utilized if working out of an office:
1. Computer - If you purchased a computer during the year, you can claim a major percentage of that purchase on your taxes. Determine the amount of usage between your business and your personal use and claim that percentage of the cost on you income taxes.
2. Computer usage - Any software that is used on your computer for the purpose of your MLM business can be deducted. This would also include any programs or ebooks or anything of that sort are legitimate business expenses and can be deducted. Include a part of your internet and phone fees in that deduction.
3. Hosting and domain fees - If you have one or many domain names and they are hosted somewhere, those expenses are certainly deductible.
4. Video and other devices - A video camera used for making videos to produce and place on YouTube is an expense. If you subscribe to a video or telephone conferencing program for use in webinars or training of any sort, they are legitimate expenses.
5. Affiliate fees - Affiliate programs sometimes charge for signing up to promote their business. MLM business in most cases charge a monthly fee to host a website for you to introduce your program. This is a deductable expense.
6. Outsourcing - If you outsource anything to part of your business, it is deductible.
7. Seminars - Seminars are training and a very important part of personal development in your area of expertise. These are deductible. Hotel expenses and travel to these seminars can also be deducted.
8. Home use - Partially mentioned above, but nevertheless a legitimate use of a portion of your home can be deducted. This would include a portion of your mortgage, electric, gas, water and any other household expense can be partially deducted as an expense. You should be careful with this. You can over do some of the claims.
9. Advertising - Any form of advertising that you do is obviously a deductible expense. PPC, blog expenses, solo ads, traffic exchanges, and many others are all deductible.
This is a list of many of the deductible items that should be used when submitting you income tax forms at the end of every year. The list is certainly not complete but should give you a good base to determine what is and isn’t deductible in your quest for good MLM Management.
(Note - I am not a certified tax or financial advisor. I am only giving ideas that I have successfully used in the passed but if you are going to use them, you should consult your own personal tax/financial advisor.)
ay 2010 and the future be prosperous for you and yours.

Mitsubishi Fuso Truck & Bus Corporation, Daimlerchrysler Launch New Product in Japan
One of Asia’s leading commercial vehicle manufacturers and producer of Mitsubishi truck parts, the Mitsubishi Fuso Truck & Bus Corporation together with the world’s largest financer of commercial vehicles, DaimlerChrysler Financial Services has announced recently the successful conclusion of the first business year of the FUSO financial which is the financial arm of Fuso commercial vehicles in Japan.
After a year of financial services in Japan Fuso dealers were able to come up with a contract volume of new business amounting to 100 million Euros. The Fuso network in Japan is comprised of 262 sales outlets which were completed last September 2006. The expected midterm portfolio for the Fuso Financial is one billion Euro.
According to Masayuki Nagano, Member of the Board of Management and Corporate General Manager of Sales and Service Domestic at Mitsubishi Fuso Truck & Bus Corporation, at a press conference in Tokyo, “FUSO Financial is now an integral part of the Fuso operations in Japan. With joint product development, joint marketing activities and an integrated customer relationship management we take a big step forward in becoming ‘the most reliable company’ for our customers and business partners – not only in terms of quality, but also in financial services.”
The establishment of the FUSO Financial business unit has enabled the DaimlerChrysler Financial Services to offers the full product portfolio that includes financing, leasing, and insurance services for all DaimlerChrysler brands in Japan. Obtaining a portfolio of 1.8 billion Euros and 90,000 vehicles last 2006 in Japan make it as one of the top 10 markets of DaimlerChrysler Financial Services worldwide and the largest market in the Asia/Pacific region.
Jürgen Walker, Chairman of the Board of Management of DaimlerChrysler Financial Services said, “As the world’s largest truck financer we can bring our global expertise to the Japanese commercial vehicle market to add value for our Fuso dealers and customers. Today, 35 percent of all Fuso vehicles are financed or leased via different financial services companies. Compared to other markets – where DaimlerChrysler Financial Services alone has penetration rates of 50 percent – we see great market potential in Japan.”
Mitsubishi Fuso and DaimlerChrysler Financial Services have also announced the beginning of a new full service leasing product which they call as “FUSO Maintenance Lease” for all Fuso customers in Japan. This new product will integrate vehicle leasing and maintenance services into a fixed monthly rate. The “FUSO Maintenance Lease” is the answer to the “one-stop-shopping-solution” that customers are asking for.
The “FUSO Maintenance Lease” enables the Fuso Financial to offer a competitive product bundle that is designed to meet the needs of customers. The maintenance lease was based on the experiences of DaimlerChrysler Financial Services with full service products from other markets like Europe and North America.
Tilo Schmid-Sehl, President and Representative Director of DaimlerChrysler Financial Services Japan Co., Ltd. said, “After 15 years of successful business in Japan with DaimlerChrysler passenger vehicles we have all the necessary market know-how to become a leading commercial vehicle financer here, too. With our extended financial services portfolio for Fuso customers and dealers, FUSO Financial will strongly support the sales of Fuso trucks and buses in Japan.”

How do self respecting people in MLM actually think having a downline is fair leverage?
You always hear people in MLM talk about how brilliant the system is because it uses leverage and that you get a little effort from a lot of people and everyone makes money.
Is this not the most idiotic thing you have heard? if everyone is doing only a little effort conceivably not selling enough on their own effort to at least provide an income, then it is physically impossible for everyone to be earning at the same time. The only way it works if is the pyramid continually grows. People in MLM say that the people at the bottom should leverage as well and get the same results as those at the top, but essentially that only means that at no point ever in the Mlm Model does EVERYONE benefit, there are always people at the bottom getting no value.
Are people in MLM that stupid, or is it that there are enough people with no concept of math that are constantly seeing MLM for the first time?
The bulk of people who profess this leverage do so because they do not understand. I don’t think the majority of people in MLM are bad people, they are predominately non business people naive enough to overlook the fact that the need for constant exponential people is the only means possible to succeed using a downline…what supposedly makes MLM better than any normal sales position.
In terms of what some have said here, sure, if MLM was a sales operation only there would be no problem. One should hold the sale person who endeavors to make it rich selling any product with great respect since its a very hard and respectable means of making money. However, few if any Mlm Companies promote sales predominately, and in fact nearly All Mlm Companies are filled with people who never sell enough volume on their own to make a living. this is where the lack of respect in the Mlm Industry comes from because instead of actually promoting value through sales, they promote value through getting other people in your organization. They use one liners like “leverage is the key” to disguise the fact that the means of getting wealthy off of building a downline is a ponzi scheme.
Ideally, if you are selling lots of product and doing well, and you know of others who are good salespeople that could benefit, then signing them up and getting a small commission on their sales is good business. But that is not the intent of MLM. The intent of building an Mlm Downline is to build enough people in your network so you never have to sell a great deal of personal product. MLM companies will tell you that they are not a sales company when it is convenient and they need to get non sales people into their downline, and then will turn around and tell other people questioning their system that its all about sales. This promotes a great lack of respect for MLMers again.
In regards to mrsgillen’s answer about the pyramid, this is a prime example of the MLMer using a one liner (saying “its not different than a pyramid structure in the company you may work for”) as oppose to actually addressing the issue. The issue is not the shape of the network, its that the people at the bottom are not earning enough money to support themselves until they bring in people of their own. The whole system is set up on bringing in people who bring in people who bring in even more people, never on going out and selling enough volume to support yourself. In conventional business, although structured with people at the top earning the most, the fact and major difference is that the people at the bottom are able to earn a living without ever having to bring anyone else into the company (and in fact id they didn’t add enough personal value, they would be fired), and the company is able to pay these people without ever having to hire new employees. In MLM, unless people are selling enough personal volume, the only way to make money is to bring in other people, which makes its a ponzi scheme. The fact that they CAN sell personal volume may keep Mlm Legal, but that doesn’t mean its right. As I have said before, I can set up a lemonade stand on my front lawn and feasibly make millions, but the reality that it would be a terrible business decision in light of all the other options out there…thus is the same with MLM.
As far as the referral network, there is a huge difference between just recommending something to your friend and recommending an MLM product to your friend. The fact is, if I know you have an invested interest in what you are recommending, then I am going to take that bias into account. MLMers do not think that bias is an issue because their family and close friends happily buy their product initially because their family and friends wish to support them in their endeavor, that is human nature. But how long can you take advantage of human nature? The reason MLM is not taking over (what MLMers refuse to accept) is that in the long haul, people’s good nature will only go so far and will they will not just continually buy your products just to support you. Those decisions eventually are made on value and cost. Most MLMers will jump right in and tell you that they have the most valuable product, etc etc etc…but the reality is most MLMers would never buy the products in MLM if there was not the dream of making millions in MLM attached to it (of course they will deny that, but common sense dictates the obvious).
Word of mouth advertising is the least expensive method of sales, but MLM twists that fact into their model to convince their reps that their system is best. This always flies right over the head of the MLMer in light of the fact that the product they are selling is nearly always substantially higher priced than any competing product. MLMers are taught to confront that issue saying that their product is unique and there is no other product to compare it to. This of course is merely a convenient justification. Any good product will have quick competition from the market, but MLMers are led to believe that patents and early entry into the market has kept them ahead. The fact that conventional systems such as Wal-Mart or other large retailers can offer prices at a fraction of anything MLM has ever sold gives evidence to the fact that MLM as a sales model is far more expensive.
If the Mlm System was the dream that MLMers profess, wouldn’t it make sense for companies to exist in MLM to compete with large retailers? Yet they do not, the only physical products sold in MLM are products that are not found in the market permitting MLMers to be duped into the concept of not having comparative products in order to justify their extremely high prices.
Then there is the fact that MLM doesn’t reap the low cost of word of mouth because of the fact that MLM is forced to pay several layers, sometimes even 10 levels deep, of reps for every transition. Suddenly the costs of marketing these products has sky rocketed since so many people are being paid on a single sale. Consider, the MLM view is to suggest that in conventional sales there are middle men along the way that jack up the prices and advertising costs that send the prices even higher…yet in MLM they overlook the fact that each sale pays several layers of people who added absolutely no value to that single sale. At least in convention sales you have direct value being added at every step, such as advertising, wholesalers, warehousers. MLMers suggest that these entities take a slice of the pie at the expense of the consumer, which is perhaps the best example of their lack of economic understanding. Competitive advantage through cost efficiency in an open market enforces the fact that value must be created through these entities or competing entities will be able to offer similar products at lower costs. Mention that to the average MLMer and it goes right over their head, which is likely the result of people jumping into MLM in droves with no business backgrounds.
I do not believe people in MLM are stupid. It is, however, a common trait in MLM to accept what the leaders and owners of the MLM companies tell them as the way things work. As I mentioned above, if an MLM leader tells them word of mouth is cheaper and MLM will win out, and this MLM leader is a successful person, most MLMers prefer to take that as fact. There is generally not any thought given to the fact that perhaps these things are being said to keep the MLMer excited about the business in lieu of reality. Many MLMers choose not to think about it and just accept that they too can have riches from the system without ever considering what it really would take to achieve it, or if the leaders actually achieved their success in MLM at all.
MLM is an emotionally charged business where they require massive amounts of hype at every meeting, convention, and gettogether to keep everyone emotionally involved. Mlm Programs are geared at merely looking over the face of the numbers and never digging much deeper. The initial numbers always look great and most people, who are now on an emotional high thinking about what it would be like to be rich, never choose to look further than what is being presented. That is likely the very definition of naive.
So these people are not stupid, they are merely emotionally driven and naive. In all likelihood, they are quite capable of doing the math, but never do so because they have already convinced themselves that MLM is the wave of the future (and their upline and other leaders constantly reinforce it for them). I would not say these people deserve any lack of respect for making this mistake, the lack of respect is constantly bothering those of us who identify the flaw of MLM with their spam, arrogance, and and in some cases derogatory comments.
The different interactive units of Internet marketing
The name Internet marketing is fully descriptive of the business because it refers to marketing of products or services via the comparatively novel medium of Internet. However, the term Internet marketing is a multi-colored patch work beach umbrella, which combines in it direct selling, ecommerce, affiliate marketing, sale of advertising space, electronic publishing, search engine marketing, and many related phenomena. Each of these can be an income generating business pattern in isolation or it may work as parts of a larger Internet business transaction.
Direct selling is face-to-face selling of a company’s products without going through retail outlets. The seller of the product will be a representative of the manufacturer and will sell the product for a commission. While direct selling is a very conventional business transaction, it has found its place in Internet marketing also. Manufacturing companies now provide web sites that the representatives can use for a monthly fee. Using this, representatives can take their goods directly to customers as in the case of face-to-face sales.
Ecommerce means the selling of products or services by carrying out transactions over electronic systems. Supply chain management, which consists of taking products to end-users, is a part of ecommerce. Electronic data transfer and electronic fund transfer and other allied business related operations through electronic systems are also part of ecommerce.
Affiliate marketing is an online business model where an independent third party sells the products or services developed by a manufacturer. This Internet marketing model provides an income for lots of affiliate marketers and also increases the profit of the product developer.
Buying and selling of advertising space on the Internet helps the seller of the space to make money. The buyer of the space is benefited by the increased sales generated by the banner ads, pop-up ads, pop-under ads, and interactive media ads that take the information pretty fast to all corners of the globe. Electronic publishing, which is another form of Internet marketing, is the digital publishing of books and journals either for sale or for promotion of websites or products.
Search engine marketing is a facet of Internet marketing geared for increasing the visibility of the web sites so that they get a good ranking in search engine results. Several advertising methods, the most common of which is pay per click method, is used for search engine marketing. It is not possible for Internet based businesses to survive without proper search engine marketing of their websites.
Perhaps the most powerful face of Internet marketing is eBay marketplace where virtually everything can be bought and sold online. No store or shop anywhere in the world will be able to display such a large array of goods of diverse category at one place. Agreed, the goods are not located physically at one place, but customers shop and buy everything sitting on his couch.
Because of the electronic fund transfer system, buyers and sellers do not even have to handle cash, or make inventories or write invoices. Internet marketing is taking people to the new world without pens, pencils, and papers.

An MLM pyramid scheme may give the appearance as a way to make a lot of money, but it just looks like a scam and something illegal. If you get mixed up in the wrong thing you will most likely lose money in the deal and be completely turned off to and any real opportunity that might present itself at a later time. A real Mlm Opportunity is a viable and real way in which you can earn a lot of money.
A Legal Mlm opportunity allows you to earn a commission on the personal sales that you make of products as well as the sales made by your team which looks like a pyramid. It can be very confusing if you are not familiar with the industry because it takes the form of a pyramid structure. Our inherent instincts that we were taught says that it is a scam if it looks like a pyramid.
A great way to look at the pyramid structure is to compare it to the corporate world You have the CEO at the top making all the money. You then have Vice Presidents below him who make slightly less. That trend will continue all the way down to the secretaries and those that earn the least amount. The person higher up will make more than the person at the better. This is a pyramid.
In MLM anyone no matter where they are in that pyramid can earn more than the person above them. Although you might find the rare situation you will more than likely not see that happen in the corporate sector. It is all dependent on the actual work that you do. You will see success in your opportunity when you place time and energy into it. Just by getting a position in the pyramid structure will note mean you make any mean. Money will follow hard work and dedication.
You will also need to evaluate the products that you will be selling. For any real opportunity to exist, there needs to be a product or service that you are selling since that is what you will be receiving a commission from. If you come accross something that you get a commission just because someone joins, then that might be a scam. A real product or service that contains value must exist. You may encounter some things that would appear to have something to sell; however, if that product is not able to sell without having to present the ability to make money you might be looking at a scam.
It will be important for you to be able to analyze any potential opportunity before you jump in to be able to determind whether or not it is a Legitimate Mlm opportunity or some pyramid scheme that is a scam. You definately do not want to get into anything that is illegal.

While nobody wants to be called a dummy, there are ten dummy network marketing tips that are entitled such simply because they might fall under the heading of even a network marketing dummy would know that. It is surprising that so much common sense is going by the wayside when dealing with the Network Marketing Business but unfortunately some of it can be traced back succinctly to the presence of e-books and even training materials that advocate outdated and antiquated procedures. To make sure that you do not commit one of the cardinal sins of network marketing, here are ten network marketing tips you cannot ignore.
1. Until you are a seasoned network marketer, look to your up line for guidance and go slow with respect to building a down line. It is uncanny how many novices will attempt to build a vibrant down line, even though they have yet to make one sale of the actual product they are working with. Get to know the product and what it takes to sell it and then look for other distributors. This will greatly increase the quality and eventual output of your down line.
2. You need to use online and off line marketing tools. Relying on only one venue is like putting all of your eggs in one basket and then taking it off roading. The results are not pretty.
3. Differentiate between generic and qualified leads. A generic lead is cheap and easy to get but will require more persuasion to be turned into a customer. A qualified lead is a lot more expensive but you have a greater chance at success, although not a guarantee.
4. Use a professional website for your marketing effort. The term professional cannot be underscored often enough. Stay away from the home made look that tips off every visitor that you are operating out of your spare bedroom. Outsource this aspect of the business if you are not sure you can do it yourself.
5. Use ethical business practices or your site will be blacklisted by search engines and your email considered spam. Do not use mirror sites, fraudulent metatags and sent emails to everyone on a consistent basis.
6. Make the most of newsletter Network Marketing Opportunities. Your product and business can shine in a newsletter. Sometimes referred to as article marketing, this is a vehicle that incorporates your commercial message in a general content piece of writing. Let the experts put this together for you if you are not sure you can pull this off yourself.
7. Forums are great for marketing but they are also great for getting kicked off if you are found to be spamming. Be very careful when going this route.
8. Practice public speaking skills, even if thus far you are conducting the business only online. There will come a time when you need to do a sales presentation.
9. Network with fellow marketers by joining business organizations germane to your area of business or product.
10. Stay informed and educated about the market place. Learn to recognize change in consumer behavior and find out how to make these changes work to your advantage.

To be entirely clear, multi level marketing does not always mean “scam”. There are a lot of con artists who go under the guise of offering business opportunities through MLM, but these people do not represent the entirety of multi level marketing. That said, the sheer fact that that is a possibility is already a major difference in direct sales vs multi level marketing. Still, the following comparisons are meant to be fair and unbiased to allow you to make an informed decision between both options.
Direct Sell Means Earlier Profits
Because of the pyramid like structure of Multilevel Marketing, it could be months or years before your first profit. In fact, if you don’t know how to milk it for all it’s worth, you might never see any return on your investment whatsoever. It’s not that all Mlm Programs are scams, but there are a lot of scams masquerading as Legitimate Mlm programs. With direct sales, you simply buy the product and sell it to the customer. This means direct profits and little risk of being conned out of your investment.
Direct Selling Means Direct Business
Because the primary relationship of direct selling is a customer/seller relationship, you get paid directly by your customers. With an MLM setup, you don’t sell to the customer, you sell to other marketers, and you’re really just another cog in the wheel of the vast machine of the Mlm Company. It is, essentially, not really an opportunity to be a business owner but to be a middleman.
Direct Selling is Much Simpler
MLM can be incredibly confusing, especially because each program uses its own structure and plan, and because… Well, the entire structure of the business is very roundabout. With direct selling, it’s just a matter of gathering the product, setting up a site or storefront somewhere, and then selling the product. It really is as simple as we’re making it sound.
Direct Sales are Lower Risk
A study last year showed that just one in ten marketers in a certain company in the UK actually made any profits whatsoever. Not a good ratio. Not all Mlm Companies are the same, but the fact remains that many of them will string you along for quite awhile before you’re making any money. Not so when it comes to direct sales, which come down to simply getting the product and selling it to customers.
Direct Selling is SELLING
The focus of MLM isn’t really on selling, it’s on recruitment. When you have thousands of salesmen and very few customers, then it becomes obvious that the real profit is to be made on the “business owners” and not on a real, legitimate customer base. If you really want to be a business owner, if you really want to make something for yourself, try direct sales.

Five Reasons Why Ninety Percent of Network Marketers Fail
Nine out of 10 people who fill out a Network Marketing application will fail to build a viable business. Among that number will be people who do not take action and people who build a business yet experience a true business collapse.
The oft-quoted statistic allegedly from the Small Business Administration(SBA) that 9 out of 10 of all businesses fail within 10 years by comparison is not true.
According Brian Headd?s article from Small Business Economics 21:51-61, 2003: Redefining Business Success: Distinguishing between Closure and Failure, 66% of conventional businesses survive 2 years or more, 50% survive four years or more and 40% survive six years or more. Traditional small businesses do far better than the 90% failure rate quoted by people in the Network Marketing Industry.
What is the difference? Is the network marketing model itself faulty? Many familiar sales models use the same business model as network marketing. Real estate sales are a prime example. Many top sales people across the automotive, pharmaceutical, travel and other industries have as their main responsibility to recruit and train sales people and in return are paid commissions based on the performance of their teams. It is not the model.
What is it then? Why do so many people fail in network marketing?
Working with people over the past 5 years and in speaking with other successful network marketers during the same time, I have been able to come up with 5 reasons:
1) The cost of entry is too low: The typical start up costs can range from 0 to $1500 dollars. Imagine the person who decides to open a traditional business and has to invest tens of thousands of dollars to do so. How might that person differ from the person who can put their business start up on a credit card? The person seeking to open a conventional business where the investment is high will develop a business plan. That plan will include a skills assessment, expected expenditures and projected revenues. If the prospective business owner realizes they have a skill deficit that is material to their business success, they will either set to work learning that skill before opening their business or they will provide funding and a plan to acquire that skill while they are in the planning stages and before they open for business. Now imagine the person who can simply put their start up costs on their credit card. For the majority of network marketers there is no planning beyond the initial start up. Most never ask of their sponsors or themselves what they may need to be successful other than the initial start op costs. They never ask what skills they lack. There are on-going business costs in addition to the start up costs and those costs can range from $100 to $500 dollars per month. Many do not make provision for on-going expenses. On-going business expenses tend to be regarded as expenses akin to the cable bill rather than investments in their business. The low start up, then, can be a stumbling block to success in business.
2) Lack of appropriate training: Unfortunately many companies and teams do not offer training beyond corporate events. In order to be successful network marketers must master a simple formula, the Inviting Formula, and they must use that formula 30 to 60 times per month. Without this formula many new and seasoned network marketers will invite the wrong prospects to review their information and find themselves disappointed by the results. The Inviting Formula is simple to learn and implement. Why is there so little training available in network marketing? I believe the reason can be found in the very reasons why people get started in network marketing. Take the wage earner who wants to fire his boss. He never wants anyone to tell him what to do again; he hates his boss and wants to be free. Take the corporate executive and the entrepreneur both of whom are tired of managing people and are looking to build a fleet of independent business owners that they never have to manage. Put both groups of people together in what is fundamentally a people business and what do you get? People who find that they have to do what they were trying to get away from in order to be successful and become free! YIKES!
3) Too many people are looking for the big income score and fail to appreciate the smaller sums of income they earn along the way. Most people get started in network marketing because of the big income claims. They want the six figures. If they don?t get ?em they quit. Here is a statistic that will knock your socks off. Anyone grossing $30,000 per year or more with their respective company is among the top 3% of income earners for their company. Here is another fact. The income earned through network marketing is tax-advantaged income. Income earned through a job is not. Anyone earning an additional $30,000 dollars per year in tax-advantaged income who fails to make significant strides in improving their wealth will never improve their wealth with $100,000 per year. Finally, the road to earning and keeping six figures and beyond is a 5 to 10 year process and there is no way around it. It is a process that requires growth and change in the areas of personal finance, emotional maturity, spiritual maturity, and personal association.
4) Low EQ, failed expectations, too much hype in the industry: Looks like I jumbled 3 different ideas into one point but they are actually all related. There is a lot of hype in the industry. Joe Smith the waiter to went from 0 to six figures in a year. Of course Joe Smith and his company forgot to mention that all of Joe?s family were involved in the industry of network marketing, that all were successful, and that Joe was working as a waiter just to figure out what his options were. That skills are required is just one of the ?inconvenient truths? of network marketing. The hype leads invariably to failed expectations. If people understand at the start that network marketing is really a business that requires a skill set fewer people would get started and more people would be successful. The organizations created would move from vertical sales organizations to consumer-based organizations as more people seek to become product users rather than business owners. Network marketing itself is an industry that attracts too many people who desire instant gratification. Daniel Goldman described the Emotional Quotient or EQ in his book Emotional Intelligence. He found that the greatest determinant of long term success was one?s ability to delay gratification.
5) Money In, Money Out: Many people treat Network Marketing as a Money in, Money out proposition. Imagine a black box. On one side of the box is the word ?IN? in bold letters. On the other side is the word ?OUT? in bold letters. It would be easy to think that just because you put money in, you should get money out. Investments rarely work out that way. See the trouble is that ?black box?. Something goes on in that black box that transforms inputs into outputs and therein lies the rub. As an illustration, I was on the phone with a prospect the other day. He said, ?I have been scammed so many times, what I need is a person who will work with me, show me the ropes, train me?are you that person?? My response was, ?yes, we have a training program that begins with our training manual. We have weekly calls and I will be meeting with you a couple of times per week and giving you assignments each time we meet. You won?t progress unless you do the assignments and attend the training calls?are you that person?? Stone cold silence. He never did answer my question. With my first company, I received motivational materials at a cost of $60 dollars per month but no training. In my second program there was training galore that I didn?t take advantage of. I thought my team?s system would build my business for me. When I realized that it wouldn?t, I had a choice, quit or continue. In order to continue I had to ask myself some questions, among them, What skill or skills do I lack? There are 2 skills required in network marketing A) the skill of inviting which has embedded in it the stills of listening, sorting and sifting and B) The skill of training which requires the skills of boundary setting and the skill of setting expectations. I lacked the skill of inviting. I learned my profession through experimentation, direct observation and practicing. I applied those same strategies to learning the skill of inviting and I went from sporadic checks to consistently earning multiple 4 figures per month.
