The leader, obviously.

Because the product was in the leader’s hands. The leader’s skill sold the product. It’s a totally different question that the leader could have sold a good product even faster. Unfortunately a lot of people promote their company in such a way that anyone can promote and succeed it.

No, only the skilled can. That’s why Network Marketing Leaders make so much money while others don’t even make a dime.

At the end of the day, everything depends upon your marketing ability. If your leader is good but you aren’t then it is your leader who will make the money, not you. So in order to experience great success you need to know how to promote your businessnetwork marketing business and that is why I called the promotional technique as the most important factor.

In mlm, your success is not dependant on individual performances but on team performances. So it doesn’t really matter how many people you recruit, it all boils down to how easily your team downlines can duplicate your efforts.

Now since we all believe that duplication is essential for success, people generally tend to assume that approaching your friends and family members is the best bet for achieving duplication. Approaching people works for some no doubt, but a far greater success can be achieved by using a duplicable promotional methodology.

Now a good promotional technique shouldn’t have you running behind your friends and relatives asking them to join you over and over and over again.

A fantastic promotional methodology should have the following components:

1. Strategies which your downlines can use to generate their own set of prospects very single day.

2. A great support system to convert all those prospects into paying distributors.

3. A training system to help the newcomers how to market their Network Marketing Business and attract prospects.

It doesn’t really matter if you are using online techniques or offline techniques. You need to have a system to generate prospects continually so that your network marketing business grows quickly and efficiently.

I, for one, welcome wake up calls. Society has a tendency to snooze through way too many truths only to wake up during the hand out of deception and lies and then swallow every bite without even making the effort to view the ‘other side of the coin.’


As a certified Life Coach, my clients contact me for various reasons. I have a habit of zeroing in on truth and hate the slightest taste of even a mixture or what some like to call ‘white lies’. As it turned out all his efforts were for naught and his concern was more than just the loss of time, money and effort. Of course he was in it for money, but something was going on as I listened to him, that just didn’t feel right. So, with his permission, I began to investigate and the following is what I found out.


By the way, I am not advocating that all Mlm Businesses are run the way I’m about to share. People want into Mlm Marketing businesses for numerous reasons, but I believe for the most part, it’s made up of those people, just like you and me, who desire to pay their bills, make a decent living and have enough time left over to spend time with family and friends. In principle, my clients Mlm Company’s plan should work and make many participants substantial profits, if all involved were honest. Unfortunately, that’s never the case. This particular company, as in most, had a group of network marketers who came in ‘at the top’ and were advertising that no experience was necessary, because, after all, we’ll call her Sally, she had no experience and she stated, “The sales were just rolling in like crazy.” Sally was one of the very beginners in this MLM Company.


I asked my client to give me a few details on how the company was run. Two very significant things stood out above all the rest. The first was a team training call held several times a week over the phone. The calls were not only set up for the members of the Mlm Business, but used to speak to potential prospects considering joining. The second significant thing I noticed was a form of advertising used over and above the usual Mlm Mailing Lists. The advertisement encouraged was a full page print ad in a popular Home Business Magazine.


I asked my client who ran the meetings and was told that Sally was the leader. Sally used the phone time to speak to individuals by answering any questions they may have about marketing and networking. She repeated phrases like “I’m here donating my time to help YOU become successful like me.”


Next I considered and even investigated the actual Home Business Magazine where the full page advertisement was placed. Now, you and I know, because we weren’t born yesterday, that a full page ad in any magazine is expensive, I may add astronomical. So where did the money come from for the ad, what did the ad say and who was in the ad? These were my next questions. I didn’t ask what the purpose of the MLM print ad was, I already knew. Or did I? Stay with me, it gets interesting…


My client shared with me that during these phone meetings, Mlm Members were encouraged to pool their finances and each put in a minimum of $300.00 towards the expense of the ad. The total price of the full page was around $17,000. The $300.00 would get one member credit for one month’s leads of approximately 40-60 names and phone numbers of callers who inquired about the ad.


My client had put in $600.00 for two months leads. Once the magazine came out, the magazine delivered a few leads by email and when they were called, they stated they were not interested. Yet, each week, several times a week Sally was not only bragging about all her sales, she was emailing columns of her bank statements verifying all the money she was raking in.


As I studied the ad I had a flash thought. Have you ever watched a teenage girl who tries to dress just like her movie star idol or wear her hair in the same style? How about a teenage boy who wants to hit the baseball just like his favorite player or use the same stance while he pitches? Why don’t these teens just look to one of their peers to emulate? Well, don’t we all want to follow people who are successful and impress us? Take this a step further. If we have a choice, do we want to follow after an amateur MLM marketer who’s never experienced their first sale OR one who’s bragging in a magazine that she’s “pulled in 15 sales her first month with the business and grossed over $300,000 in just a few months”, not to mention she’s “created one of the largest, fastest-growing teams in the business and is 100 percent debt free.” Hum? Which mentor or up line, do you venture to guess, would enthuse and prompt the reader more?


Oh, I don’t want to forget one thing, the whole article in the magazine wasn’t about the ‘business’ so much as it was about the ‘person’ who was the achiever in the business. And to top it off, the article just happened to leave HER full online business name, just in case the reader didn’t feel motivated to call the toll-free number at the bottom and leave their phone number for my client and/or other Home Business contributors to the ad.


Amazing what a little discernment will do. My client, and many others like him were contributing to what they were told was a mutual endeavor to be split evenly so each had a chance to present the business to their prospect. When I pointed out sentences like “Sally wants to continue to stay focused on other people’s success in the business and help many more people to find the kind of freedom that she has found,” and “Sally spends approximately 17 hours per week training HER team, the weekly training calls SHE conducts makes it easy to get started. (Her business name listed) She offers support for each member. Why, I asked my client, would anyone seriously call the 800 number below when Sally has made it so easy, simple and clear that SHE is available, so just be trained by her and be UNDER her?


As a teenager looks to one who’s already an achiever for their mentor, so Sally knew that having the article predominately about her, not the business, but about HER success, would create an enigma that she hoped no one would figure out. It’s called, money in the bank just by knowing human nature. And just to sweeten her pot, she also found a way to add her name, personal audio and a link to her site on every team members assigned business website. All in the name of, “I’m here to help.”


Warning, consider all angles prior to investing your money in Mlm Companies. Not everyone is ‘look’n out for you” as Bill O’Reilly puts it. Oh, and it’s not a bad idea to find a good coach or a coaching group where others can join with you and analyze, dissect, investigate, reveal and truly focus on what’s really important to you. Some of us truly care.

4 Ways of Recruiting Mlm Leaders Into Your Business

If you’ve been around the MLM and Network Marketing Industry for any length of time, you know that to really create long-term growth in your business you should always be recruiting MLM leaders into your network. Attracting retail sales and consumers is always great for the paycheck, but true growth comes from bringing in other growth-minded people who want to grow an Mlm Business. So how can you do that? Here are four ways to get your started.

1. Prospect People Who Are Already Leaders
This is based on the same principle as the saying, “If you want something done ask a busy person to do it.” In other words, a busy person is already accustomed to getting things done so asking a busy person to do something means that it will probably get done. The same holds true for recruiting MLM business builders. Don’t just recruit from your warm market or from among your friends. Instead, look for people who are clearly leaders, even if you don’t know them very well. It could be your real estate agent, banker, or the president of the PTA. If the person demonstrates initiative and leadership, take the time to cultivate a relationship and find the time to present your opportunity to them. People who are already leaders are quite busy, so your percentage of signups among this crowd may be lower, but signing up even one of these people will take you far in generating long-term growth for your MLM business.

2. Let People Find You
While you always wanting to be recruiting MLM business builders into your network with active prospecting techniques, be sure that you aren’t doing all the work by trying to convince people to join your business. Balance your prospecting efforts with marketing approaches that allow leaders you don’t know to find you. For instance, if you do article marketing by submitting articles relevant to your business to directories, chances are you will attract people who are actively searching for information and help on MLM. Those who connect with your writing and take the time to contact you are the ones you want in your business because they have demonstrated their initiative and leadership skills. 

3. Practice Lead Abundance
The only way to truly spot the leaders who might really take your MLM business far is to keep yourself from getting sandbagged by tire-kickers and time-wasters. And how do you do that? By practicing lead abundance. When you have plenty of leads and prospects to work with, you won’t feel tempted to spend hours on the phone with people who are not serious about working their business. The people who are truly successful at recruiting MLM leaders are those are quick to sort through the pack and who only spend time with people that demonstrate active effort and show results. A Tip for Success in Ytb Travel Mlm

This evening I spoke with a great lady with such a delightful, outgoing personality, we’ll call her ‘Sheryl.’ Sheryl contacted me looking for help in her YTB Travel Mlm Business and said she didn’t know how to recruit. With such a great phone presence, she certainly wasn’t shy. I asked her why she got into YTB Travel in the first place.

She said she was originally involved with another Mlm Company and, as much as she enjoyed their products, she really loves traveling and that’s all she’s ever really wanted to do. When she recently found the YTB Travel MLM business, it was a no-brainer.

So, I tested her faith a little further… I said, “Sheryl, let’s say I told you to drop your life right now and simply give everything to me. I want you to get on a plane and you can go travel the world anywhere and everywhere you want on my dime for the rest of your life. You will have no money, no property, no belongings, and no home, but I will cover your travel costs, food, etc. How would you feel about that?”

I felt her heart skip a beat at the mere thought.

“It would be Heaven,” she said. “Then, you’ve picked the right business for you because you have a true passion for what you’re doing,” I told her. That’s the first step - and the most important in my book. Too many people get into their MLM business for the wrong reasons. Often times they’re sweet-talked into joining someone’s MLM only to ‘help out a friend’ or family member in the blind hopes it will lead to huge income… which is always the wrong reason to join a business.

If you’re like Sheryl, you may find this hard to believe, but not everyone views traveling with the same passion, even though almost everyone enjoys traveling at one time or another for business or vacation. However, there are still 10’s of thousands of people who share those same passionate dreams of a life of traveling bliss like Sheryl, but you must seek them out.

As much of a no-brainer as this may appear, the important concept to be successful in your YTB Travel MLM business is to not have the mindset of simply trying to blindly recruit every warm body who comes within shouting distance who may have once thought of taking a cruise through the Florida Keys.

Wanting a discount on airfare is one thing. Wanting to build a business is clearly another.

These are NOT your YTB Travel business builders.

Maybe they’ll be your customers… some day… maybe! Probably not.

To find out their passions, you’ve got to qualify your prospect first - ask questions about how they feel about traveling. They’ll tell you. If they’re not crazy about it like you - next! …and shut up. Don’t try to convince someone they should get into the travel world if they aren’t interested. Why? You’re wasting you’re time talking to the wrong people.

I’ve met SO many people like Sheryl it’s incredible. Too many new YTB Travel RTA’s are so busy trying to convince (sweet-talk) their friends and family to join their YTB Travel downline (because it’s what they’ve been taught) they’re missing out on all the other people who would genuinely LOVE to join, but never heard of YTB Travel.

Did you catch the part about how Sheryl has always loved traveling, but only RECENTLY found YTB Travel? There’s THOUSANDS of people like Sheryl out there! She didn’t join in the hopes of making great money (although, she really wants to make money, too).

If you’re like Sheryl, or even close, first, you need to think about YOUR lifestyle now and understand that other people who think like you are in a similar situation as you, because they want the same things you want. So, you need to learn to attract like-minded people, instead of wasting your time trying to force and convince people who really are not interested.

Think about YOU for a minute: What’s your lifestyle like? What kind of job do you have? Where do you hang out? What kind of food do you like? Where do you like to shop? Why do you shop there? What kind of TV shows do you watch? Start looking in these area for like-minded people.

Sure, you might have one friend that shares your travel passions, and, if so, they’ll be the RARE exception.

Stop looking for “just anybody” to talk to and start looking for people who already express their own genuine interest in travel …not because you convinced them of it. These will be your best business builders and will never give up just because the money isn’t coming in one day. (See my previous article: Mlm Leads…Reality Check)

Start looking for about 10,000 “Sheryl’s.”

Evolv Review – Is it a Scam?

Evolv is a brand New Mlm Company that is hitting the online scene this October.

Who is Evolv?

Evolv is a “Revolutionary” bottled water company developed by a team of scientists and practised entrepreneurs. Their unique selling point is the increased oxygen properties infused with this natural spring water. This MLM company is putting heavy focus on the Internet and online strategies such as Web 2.0. The Evolv management team is made up of Brent Hicks, Trey White and Anne Bodak Smith. They promote that they have 75 years of collective experience in the Mlm Industry.

With every living organism needing water for survival, the bottled water industry is currently an $8 billion a year industry, and that is just in the United States. You can see why Evolv and Trey White would want to capitalize on this market especially in the MLM field.

Did you know that 24% of bottled water is really just tap water? Tap water actually  undergoes more scrutinized testing than bottled water. Seems like it should be the other way around, right?

After reading countless Evolv sales pages, we must commend them on their strong push towards online marketing strategies. For example, their Facebook and Twitter ideas really show that they are paying attention to Social Media marketing. Another aspect they are developing is SEO and PPC training. It fantastic to see an MLM company leading with these cutting edge online marketing strategies from the beginning. Although there are not many details about the specifics of the online marketing strategies that will be offered, it is good to see that it has been presented in their initial game plan.

It is a refreshing change to see company providing training on the online marketing strategies, however they do still point all of the traffic back to a self replicated MLM company website. This might be the best tactic for Evolv but not for the Independent Mlm Business owner.

Evolv’s comp plan is set up like a traditional Binary structure with new codings to build both depth and width with a binary volume and an executive check match. Evolv has your typical Builder Bonuses, Fast Start (Initial Order) Bonuses, and Rank Advancement Bonuses. There is also, what they call a “DNA Coded Bonus” which to the untrained eye looks very complicated. It seems intentionally complex as to confuse new distributors so they are unsure of how exactly they are getting paid.

The Evolv sales page markets the compensation plan as an infinity paying pay plan. Upon an in depth review of the comp plan, its states on several occasions that you are capped out in many of the bonuses.

Cost: $55.00 + tax/shipping per case (24 bottles).

With the average case of bottled water ranging from $3.00 to $6.00 some might think this could be a hard sell. Obviously you have to pay more for the oxygen infused water, but doesn’t $55.00 for a case of water seem a bit unreasonable? Our views are objective since we have not personally tried the product or seen anyone that has. So maybe it is worth the high price, but we’ll let you make that decision.

If you are considering joining Evolv, how are you going to distinguish yourself from all the other new Distributors? Promoting an Evolv website is not the way. How are you going to avoid looking like just another Prelaunch Start-up MLM company rep that we all get spam from on a daily basis? How are you going to position yourself as a leader that people will trust and follow into such a risky endeavour? 99% of Start up Mlm Companies don’t make it past their first birthday.

How to succeed quickly in any Mlm Opportunity.

Do not lead with the company or the product, instead make yourself the main attraction. You can do this by providing valuable content and solutions to struggling MLM Networkers.

No matter what opportunity you are in or how great your comp plan is, that’s not why people will get involved. Individuals will follow you and your business when you can show them how they will benefit from working with YOU. And that’s it.

Secrets To Mlm Genealogy Leads That Your Upline Will Never Tell You

Many people in our industry are not familiar with MLM genealogy leads or if they are effective or not.  There are definitely some distinct advantages to using this as a lead source, along with some major pitfalls as well.

First, what is an MLM Genealogy leads list?  Simply put, it is a list of people who at one time or another were active in a Network Marketing Company.  In many cases, this company that they belonged to is now no longer in operation.

Also known as a downline report, MLM genealogy leads are usually acquired through a contact within the company itself, or through a third part company which specializes in legally acquiring that list.

A distinct advantage to MLM genealogy leads is that those people are already sold on the concept of network marketing or a home based business, either from a business building or product standpoint.  Therefore, one major hurdle has already been over come.  There is no need to convince them that Network Marketing Products and companies are legitimate.

However, one major problem using these kinds of Mlm Leads is that often those members on any sort of list you acquire or buy may belong in the United States to the national “Do Not Call Registry”.  When you contact these people, you are putting yourself in jeopardy of violating the Federal Trade Commission rule about not contacting these individuals. This could lead to contact from the FTC or even fines upwards of $10,000.  While fines are not common they are still a distinct possibility.

A way to protect yourself from this issue when dealing with MLM genealogy leads is to run your lead list through a Do Not Call registry scrubber service which checks to see if those leads are part of that registry or not before you even contact them.

Another major issue with MLM genealogy leads is that these are not opt-in MLM leads.  Therefore, they have not agreed to be contacted at all by you.  People can be still quite happy with whatever opportunity they are in, or not even interested in network marketing anymore.

So, while using MLM genealogy leads sounds good in principle, your best bet is to acquire opt-in Network Marketing Leads.  Even better still is to learn how to generate opt-in leads of your own on the internet.
