Mlm Leads…Reality Check

Ok, so you got yourself some MLM leads.


I’m gonna take a wild stab and assume these are supposed to be some type of business opportunity-seeking MLM leads, right? (These are some of the most common out there.)


You probably paid several dollars per lead. Some of you may have even opted for the more expensive ‘opt-in’ or even the super-expensive ‘double opt-in, phone verified’ opportunity-seeking MLM leads, with extra whip cream, sprinkles and a cherry on top.


You started dialing with anticipation and excitement…knowing you were only a mere phone number away from sponsoring that next serious business builder who was going to take you to new heights in the Network Marketing arena.


And, so, you dialed… and you dialed… and you dialed…


After about 50 or so people hanging up on you, telling you they weren’t interested, or asking how you got their number and to stop calling and take them off your list, you decided, “Wow, these leads stink! I gotta find some better leads.”


I get emails all the time from people asking where to find Good Mlm Leads.


I’m going to reveal the biggest and best-kept secret on all leads. Are you ready?


ALL leads stink!


In other words, there is no “magic” MLM lead that you are going to call up and have people suddenly dying to jump into your Mlm Business, I don’t care what the person who sold you the leads told you. (They’re on commission.) Honestly, some of these people who sell leads are trying to give you the impression that these leads are just waiting by the phone in anticipation for your call.


Sorry to disappoint you, folks… they’re not.


And the cold reality is, if there actually were MLM leads like this… you’d NEVER see them. People like myself and other Mlm Industry leaders would buy every last one of them in a split second! You can count on that!


So, then, why Buy Mlm Leads at all if they all stink? MLM leads are the life blood of your MLM business, and, without them, your MLM business will be nowhere. What’s important is knowing the source of the MLM lead before even picking up the phone will make all the difference in the world whether you close that prospect or not.


Let me explain… First of all, “opportunity seeker” leads are a sham, in my humble opinion. Too often, these types of MLM leads are generated because someone clicked on a banner ad that said, “Win a free iPod or Dell computer” - or “Click the monkey, then just fill out this form.” (We’ve all seen these crazy ads.) And, then they’re on your list. Sure, this person may be looking for an “opportunity,” but for WHAT is my question. Not exactly my idea of a “serious MLM business builder.”


CONSIDER: If I bumped into Bill Gates (the wealthiest Billionaire alive) and told him I could show him how to double his money, he’d give me 30 seconds of his time.


Also, if Bill Gates would be interested in making more money, surely wouldn’t everyone else on the planet be interested in making more money, too? Of course. You are, and so am I, and so is your best friend. So, to find people who are looking for an opportunity to make more money…look no further than your White Pages and start dialing.


Now, is this a smart idea? No. Why? Because we have all been pounded with “money-making” schemes all our lives and we’re sick of them. That, aside from risking dialing numbers on the Do Not Call list. For 100 reasons, do not start dialing through your White Pages…please!


You have to know “what did these people do to get on this list?” Also, knowing “how long ago” they did it helps, too. Many lists have been circulating around for years. Again, this can often be a good thing, depending on what you’re marketing.


“So, Mike, if ‘opportunity-seeking’ MLM leads are no good, where do I find good prospects for my MLM business?”


That’s an excellent question… I’m glad you asked!


The trick is to approach people with your business from the standpoint of the value and benefit of what the business has to offer. Then, find lead lists of people who have expressed interest in a similar area.


For example, let’s say your Mlm Company sells nutritional products. This is health & wellness. So, you might get a list of people who are interested in becoming more healthy, such as buying a list of gym memberships or people who bought exercise equipment or maybe people who signed up for Yoga classes, etc.


It doesn’t have to be very recent. Someone who got a gym membership 3 years ago and dropped out 2 months later is a GREAT lead. Consider that person’s lifestyle: they wanted to get more healthy, but didn’t have the TIME to go to the gym. And you know, just like the rest of us, that person has been telling themselves for the past 3 years, “I gotta make time to go back to the gym - I gotta get in shape - I gotta get more healthy.”


Do you see where I’m going with this?


Suddenly, out of the blue, YOU call them up and reveal the amazing value and benefits of your nutritional product and say, “Jane, if I could show you how to be more healthy with just an extra 30 seconds a day…”


You will be amazed at the response you’ll get. When you do this right, not only will you never hear the words “I’M NOT INTERESTED,” but you’ll also close a LOT more business.


It’s not rocket science… healthy people are always looking for more ways to become more healthy, aren’t they? Whereas, unhealthy people aren’t looking for ways to become more healthy. So, you have to think, “Which of these two groups is more likely to buy my nutritional product?”


So, go out and find the people who are already looking and give them what they’re already looking for and stop trying to convince people who aren’t looking. It’s too hard.


Of course we’re all looking for an opportunity for something better. That’s a given! Your job is to figure out if the opportunity is right for them…based on their needs or wants. (And not trying to convince them it’s right for them based on YOUR needs.)


So, now, hopefully you can see how knowing the SOURCE of your MLM leads can turn frustrations into easy profits.

Enjoying Success With Network Marketing

One of the reasons that so many people are not successful with network marketing is because they give up too early. Now don’t get me wrong it can appear to be a tough business at the beginning. Recruiting, training, selling, promoting, it can seem like a huge learning curve of “things to do” and when you are not used to running a business in that way it can be easier to give up than go on.


Below are 11 steps you can take to ensure you enjoy success with network marketing, stay on the road to success and avoid potential pitfalls.


1. Be prepared to handle rejection.


Who said that any kind of selling was easy? But it all comes down to attitude. If you can understand that a rejection of the opportunity that you are so excited about is not a rejection of you as a person, then you are on your way. “No” must be interpreted as “next”. This is easier said than done but it’s the price of success.


2. Be realistic in your expectations.


All new businesses take time to develop and grow. If you go into a Network Marketing Opportunity and raise your bar to a level you can’t reach you will soon become disappointed. By the same token I never want to dampen a persons enthusiasm if they truly believe that they can achieve high numbers in a short time. However, many times unrealistic expectations are set and disappointment often follows.


Would you work out in the gym for an hour and then expect to have rippling muscles? Then why expect a business venture to be off the ground and earning you money within a few weeks? Give it time, this is a new born baby, it takes time to nurture and grow. The potential results are worth the initial effort.


If your attraction to a Network Marketing Company was the sales page that mentioned the salaries of their top recruiters find those people and ask them how long it took them to build their business and how much money and time they had to put into it. This information will give you a clearer picture.


3. Be in it for the long haul


Once you find a reputable company be prepared to stay for the long haul. As mentioned above building your business takes time. The most successful people in life have gone through very trying times but they stuck with it and left a legacy behind. It is often said that tough times don’t last but tough people do. The same is true for those seeking to build a solid residual income. You should commit yourself to at least 3 years before making a decision either way. Yes! That’s right. AT LEAST 3 years. Jumping from one opportunity to the next only shows a lack of decision and stability in your planning.


4. Listen to those who have been successful


Learn from the pros and stick with what works. When you first join a network marketing company it is really easy to “pick holes” in the way things are done. Perhaps you see a better way to achieve something. Well before you rush off and try it contact the “heavy hitters” - the successful people within the company and ask them if it has been tried already. If it ain’t broke then don’t try and fix it.


Be a learner for your first year. Just listen, learn and apply. After you are more established you can always pick up on your idea and if it is a good one then you will have the backing of experience to help you put it in place. Being in a new network marketing company is learning enough for anyone, don’t complicate things by trying to do things your way.


5. Empower your downline members ASAP!


Leveraging other people’s time and skills is the powerful system that lies behind Network Marketing.


Teaching is an important part of the game of building a strong team but some marketers make the mistake of doing too much for their downline members. This often backfires, however, because the downline members become comfortable and depend too heavily on their upline and never grow strong enough to build their own teams.


So it is important that you train your downline members and empower them to take the plunge towards getting going as quickly as possible. Avoid doing too much for them, or making them dependent on contacting you for every little thing.


6. Arrange group rather than one to one discussions


Whenever possible arrange to talk to a group of people at once rather than focus on talking to everyone individually, which will be very time consuming. The best Network Marketing Companies will already have group presentations that you can invite people to attend but you may also want to consider running your own. Other things to try include hosting an online chat room, setting up a toll free number with a recorded message that invites callers to leave their details so that you can return the call.


7. Look for people in need of extra income


Many small businesses are in need to extra revenue to help with cash flow problems. If they offer services they may also be interested in establishing a business that provides passive income - especially if it fits into what they already offer.


The biggest advantage is the fact that you are targeting people who are already motivated and understand what it takes to run a successful business. These individuals will also be networking in their businesses and therefore may be in a position of influence. Professionals that come in contact with a large number of people also make good distributors. The more ‘business minded’ your prospects are the more likely you will recruit them.


8. Make a written plan with all your goals


As a life coach I understand the importance of writing goals down as a way of working towards them. We are more likely to commit to something that is written down, plus you can hang it up within your sight to remind you of what you are working towards when you are in need of motivation. I recommend your top six goals are written out daily and/or read out.


Every business owner should have a goal to which they are aspiring to. If you aim for nothing you are likely to strike it. If your plan is to get to a residual income of $30,000 per month then you should set smaller goals on your way there.


9. Improve your listening and rapport building skills


It is important to improve your listening skills if you want to become a successful network marketer. It is even more important to improve your ability to instantly communicate and bond with people.


At its core, Network Marketing is really people management. If you don’t like dealing with people then this is not for you. You are always going to be in direct or indirect contact with people and so you should brush up on your people skills.


One of those skills that you’ll need to primarily focus on is your listening skills. One of the most common downfalls of MLMers is that they talk too much and don’t listen enough. This applies to the majority of salespeople. You have to always take time to listen to the customer because if you do - they will tell you what they are looking for!


10. Make sure you are continually learning


Stay at your peak at all times by knowing what is going on in your industry. Subscribe to at least one professional Mlm Journal and a magazine. Attend your company’s meetings and get yourself in with those higher up so that you can be one of the first to learn about new opportunities/changes and pass this on to your team.


11. Produce your own material


If you really want to be known as an expert in your field then you must seriously considering producing your own material. The more opportunity you provide people to see you as someone who knows a lot about what is happening within your company the more chances you have of being able to recruit people to join your team.


Material life special reports, ebooks, podcast, video and audio can all be created to enhance your credibility and unlike the brochure that everyone in your company uses, this is exclusive only to you (and perhaps the members of your team).


I have just provided you with 11 ways to enjoy success with network marketing that will ensure your business stays on the road to success. If you haven’t done this already I encourage you to stop reading and start writing down what your goals are for your business over the next 12 months. Also think about what you have to do to make that happen.

Mlm Lead Generation Explained: Everything You Ever Wanted to Know to Generate Free Mlm Leads

MLM lead generation is a hot topic, especially as the economy continues to struggle as more and more individuals turn to MLM, Network Marketing or direct sales organizations for income opportunities working from home.

Many top leaders and organization frown on the use of MLM lead generation systems, but let’s face the facts, the internet is here to stay and the internet is an incredible vehicle to generate an endless stream of FREE MLM leads.

I have two MLM lead generation systems that I use to create and endless stream of FREE MLM leads. My MLM lead generation systems both have tools that allow me to monitor my site stats and referrals. I can tell you that on an average day, each of my websites generates about 200-300 hits from the internet daily.

I do NOT get 200-300 leads or referrals daily, maybe 1-3 every other day, so please do not expect ANY lead generation system to generate 100-700 prospects daily, weekly or monthly. This will not happen unless you are able to pay out tens of thousands of dollars in advertising fees, regardless of the Guru’s or “Top Money Earners” state in their advertisements.

What is lead generation?

Lead generation is simply a way to generate new leads for your business opportunity other than your friends and family (Commonly known as your warm market). An internet Mlm Lead Generation System should NOT replace face to face meetings or presentations; rather compliment your existing warm market efforts.

Lead generation can be done in a multiple of ways, some free and some that requires that you pay for traffic to generate these leads by way of  pay per click campaigns (PPC), such as Google, Yahoo or Bing.

A simple internet search will reveal thousands of ways to generate leads, the most common is “How to Generate Free Mlm Leads”. These ads or splash pages for various lead generation methods; (nine out of ten) will have you spending thousands of dollars up front on PPC campaigns to generate traffic to a front loaded affiliate program to help you generate these FREE leads.

Let me tell you that, in this economy, I literally get a dozen calls per day from people that can’t even afford a simple $20.00 monthly fee to purchase a MLM lead generation system, let alone afford an expensive PPC campaign. Remember, people are joining your business opportunity because they need an additional income source, or at least want more control over their lives.

The philosophy here is that is you spend $5,000 on Google PPC ads and generate 100 leads over the next month; your prospects will hopefully spend enough money in a front loaded funded proposal system or join your business opportunity to cover these expenses.

Let me tell you that the average person is not qualified to set up, run and manage a successful PPC campaign. Chances are, and I am an internet marketing expert, and I own and manage hundreds of websites, you will come out on the short end.

The companies that are on the internet promising free leads are only doing so to sell you their marketing and affiliate programs.

How to “Really” Generate Free Leads

It is possible to generate true FREE MLM leads, however, just like your business opportunity, this method requires some work.

You CAN create an endless stream of FREE MLM leads by setting up and writing a blog such as Blogger or Wordpress. Both of these great blogs are free and both have their pros and cons. I will not get into all that here as this is about generating FREE MLM leads.

Article submissions are another excellent way to generate FREE MLM leads. This is accomplished by writing keyword rich articles and submitting them to articles submission and ezine directories.

Another hot trend for generating FREE MLM leads is through video submissions. YouTube reports hundreds of millions of video views per day….yes, that’s hundreds of millions of viewers per day!

There are many free or low cost slide share and video marketing systems available. But you can make a free video and upload it to YouTube and dozens of other high traffic video sharing websites with basic equipment you may already have.

The important part of generating FREE MLM leads through blogging, article and video submission is to have the ability to direct this traffic to a lead capture page that will capture contact information and add this information to an email auto responder system to keep your prospects attention until you have time to follow up with them.

The truth of the matter is that most of you will have full time jobs while you are getting started in your business opportunity, so you may not have the ability to follow up with your prospects right away. Having a professionally designed lead capture page with an automated email responder system is vital in ANY marketing effort.

Let’s reap so far: It is possible to generate an endless stream of leads for ANY business opportunity (MLM leads), by creating a blog and utilizing article and video submissions and having this traffic directed, not to your main company replicated website, but to lead capture system with an email auto responder.

17 Mlm Prospecting Keys

I took a course from John Di Lemme on the 17 MLM Prospecting Keys, I’d like to share with you what he says.

The first is Make Prospecting a Habit. That being constantly watching peoples behavior, who’s a hustler and getting things done, no matter if you are at a KFC. A go-getter is a go-getter.

Next Di Lemme shares that you need to have a prospecting journal. Write down the people you spoke to, what you did, how many people, pretty much your daily activity.

Then get yourself an “International Champion Recruiter Card.” This is a business card that has your name, and ONE phone number that goes to a voicemail. That’s it. Nothing elaborate, no website, or email address. Then leave this message for the voicemail:

“Hello, you’ve reached the International office of (your name) International Recruiting Corp. I am searching North, South, East, West for Multi-Millionaire Champions. You may be the next one. Leave your name and number clearly twice, so I may return your phone call within 24-48 hours. And as it states I am recruiting champions to build a multi-million dollar business. I look forward to speaking with you in 24-48 hours. Have your self the best Championship Day Ever.”

Master Cell Phone Techniques. When you are out and about, like at a Starbucks or at Bookstores. You want to talk as loudly as you can in front of as many people as you can and have a pretend conversation with John Di Lemme “Hi John, its Jasmin. I have been searching here in Atlanta for someone who wants to become a millionaire, and I just can’t find anyone. I have been searching all day long…ok, ok…I’ll give it another hour John. Ok buh bye.” And you put the phone down. You are going to catch eye contact with someone, and that’s the someone you begin to talk to. Or someone will approach you and as you more information about your phone conversation.

Ask Quick Questions. When someone approaches you for conversation, or that person you caught eye contact with begin to speak, as them “May I ask you a question? Does what I just said on the phone interest you?” Then tell them “I am an International Champion Recruiter, and I am looking for champions to make a six or seven figure income…” Hand them your International Champion Recruiter Card.

Identify 14 Slave Camp Areas. Slave camps are places where people who hold J.O.B.S hang out. Like Star Bucks, Duncan Donuts, Panera Bread, etcetera. and do your cell phone trick.

Expose Your Business. Look in Newspapers, Business Chronicles, for upcoming seminars and meetings. Any place where you can network and give out your business card and expose you as well as your business.

Accumulate Business Cards. While you are out, pick up random business cards, like ten or more a day, and leave some of your sizzle cards in several places. Call the people who’s cards you’ve picked up “Hey Mike, my name is Jasmin Anderson. I picked up your business card at the Office Depot. I am an International Champion Recruiter…” Build a business relationship with people.

Alter Your Buying Habits. Switch things up a bit. Get out of your routine and meet some new people. If that means changing dry cleaners, then so be it. This is about developing new relationships.

Join 3 Health Clubs. You will be in better health, better shape, and you will develop three different sets of relationships.

Prospect High-End Sales People. John Di Lemme recommends test driving ten different cars that cost over $60,000. Talk to the salesman, explain what you do, and how you are going to buy that car cash. Give them your International Champion Recruiter Card. Furniture sale people as great as well.

Create a Team Name and T-Shirts. Give your team a name like the Enforcers, or Motivators, what ever you like, and get some t-shirts made up and have a fun day prospecting at the mall.
