First and foremost, you are selling product and selling by word of mouth. So the product needs to be something you believe in. Ask yourself, Do you like the product? Would you buy it and use it if you weren’t selling it? Is there a demand for it? Is it of high quality? (Does the company stand behind it with a guarantee?)
2. What is the price for the product?
Is the price reasonable and fair? How does it compare to the price of similar products on the market? Is there a discount available to you as a distributor? In other words, can you make money by retailing the product?
3. What is the initial investment required to get started?
To join an MLM company you are usually required to become a member or a distributor of some kind. To do this there is a cost. How much does it cost to become a business builder in the company you are looking at? Do they offer several levels of entry? What all do you get for your initial investment (product, training material)?
4. How much product do you have to purchase each month?
Most MLM companies will require some sort of personal product purchase in order to be considered a distributor or business builder. How much will it cost you each month? Are you allowed to pick what you would like or are you just sent an auto shipment of products they decide you must buy?
5. Are your earnings based on amount of product sold or the number of distributors you sign up?
While it is desirable to have a downline (people you sponsor into the company), make sure your earnings are based on amount of product sold by you or your downline.
Since you have two goals, retailing and recruiting, you need to pay close attention to #6 & #7
6. Is the product consumable? / Do you have a chance for repeat customers?
Since one of your goals with an MLM company is to retail a product, it helps to know who your target prospects are and how they are going to use the product. Will you be able to get them going on a monthly program of buying your product? Is there an auto ship program to help keep your product moving?
7. Is there training offered to help you build your business?
In my opinion, this is one of the most important areas to check out when you are looking for a good company. Do they offer you a way to get trained and get trained correctly? Network Marketing, like any other job, has its own methods. There are both good and bad ways to go about the business. Your upline is critical to this training.
Your upline is the person who sponsors you into the company and the people who sponsored them in. This is your mentor and coach. This is the person who can get you through the tough times of starting a new business.
Even if the person who sponsors you isn’t the best at training is there someone farther up that is doing the business and having the success you are looking for? 95% of all people who start and Mlm Business FAIL. The two main reasons are they don’t want to actually work or they aren’t being trained to work the correct way. So if you are committed to the plan than all it takes is the right guidance.
8. What is the companies track record? Last but not least, you should look at the company and see how it does business. Do the company’s values match up with yours? Have they been around and do they have a stable track record? Check out their website and don’t be afraid to go around the person sponsoring you to do your own research. Don’t believe everything you hear.
Multilevel Marketing can be the opportunity you have been looking for. It provides a way to start your own home business for little initial investment and little risk.

Is Maverick Money Makers Cell Phone Cash program by Mack Michaels a scam or legitimate program? Here is my evaluation of actually using the course with my assessment to why the program is not meeting everyones expectations but on the other hand has impending potential if done correctly.
Against my own principals of doing my own due diligence at the outset on the product before purchasing it, I got caught up in the excitement of “WOW!, promoting my Cash Gifting Program and my affiliate programs to cell phone users…What a great idea and no one is doing this right now. Better hop on the band wagon before everybody else does and reap this traffic generator before it’s to late”. Below is my documented 5 day ad campaign in September 2009 using Maverick Money Makers Cell Phone Cash program following to a tee Michaels step-by-step instructions. Here are the results:
Impressions/cell phone users receiving my ad: 2007,007 Clicks: 1,385 CTR/Click Through Rate: 0.67% Cost @$.05 per click: $69.25 Sales: 0
Hold on I said, come on 1,385 viewers and not one transaction! Sadly for Michaels, the sounds to good to be true statement applies here. After thinking it through I came to the conclusion that Michaels put the cart before the horse when he launched Cell Phone Cash with all good intentions, so I don’t think he launched it as a scam. Here is why:
Unlike his other lucrative program Maverick Money Makers, Michaels new Cell Phone Cash course is hyped on the notion of thinking outside the box from normal internet methods of generating traffic. He aptly explains very well why cell phones will perform just as well if not better. He claims he is the first to offer this untapped medium and shows confirmation of his test sales promoting Clickbank programs between $30K and $85K per week. Very impressive, sounds sensible that the millions of cell phone users worldwide could support such staggering sales numbers without any competition.
While Mack Michaels definitely showcased that he was able to make astonishing money right away from promoting clickbank products using cell phones…Let’s be realistic here. One must presume that the money earned probably was from promoting all the other products his company sells. Unless it’s your own clickbank product, I wouldn’t expect any sizeable sales from promoting to cellphone users.
I additionally believe, as many others have already stated on several Forums and Blogs, no one, utterly no one is open to scroll through an entire sales letter on their Iphone and then start entering all their billing and credit card information. It just isn’t going to happen. If you cannot see yourself doing it, and your still reaching for a basis to truly wanting to see it come about, then no consumer is going to.
So what probably happened to the 1,400 folks that presumably had a little interest in my ad? I am sure that probably some of those folks in fact bought the product. But what happened was…They said, hmm…This sounds attractive, I will make a log of it and when I get back home, go online and check out this product from my PC. So they fired up their PC and went to the sales page of either the seller directly or more likely some other affiliate promoting the product and I lost out on the sale.
So personally, unless you are promoting your own Clickbank product, I would stay away from this. The concept needs to be explored further. As diverse as it is so must the advertising methods be as well to capture a sale and this has not yet been solved. If you had some promotion that had them promptly bill their phone provider, say a mobile application or ringtone. Michaels needs to solve this matter as he has the cart before the horse right now with this product.
The bottom line is, people do buy items through their phones. But they don’t do so in the traditional sense. They buy applications, mobile ring tones, etc. All of which are either billed directly on their phone bill, or the merchant is already setup where they only need to login with a user name and password and click checkout. Plus all these products are meant for a targeted audience, Clickbank products run the gamut and are way to hit or miss to a vast generic audience.
I’ll provide you an example: Tapjoy is a marketing agency that uses several ad networks to target cell phone users. Let’s say you have a daily reminder function for the Iphone, sort of electronic organizer that has extra bells and whistles than what comes with it. Cellphone users have an attraction in your product, and when they see your sales advertisement on their cellphone they click the “buy now” button on the advertisement and it’s preset to electronically withdraw from their account. No entering name, address, city, email, and credit card number. That’s a standard transaction that hundreds of thousands of cellphone users create yearly. It works and is proven to work, because it’s trouble-free and less hassle than entering all the customer information.
Now, if a sizeable advertising network does it this way, and it’s shown to work (otherwise they probably wouldn’t be in business for a long time) why would they desire to do it this way, over having a trouble-free checkout page. Simple is simple, and this is why it is the only way people purchase things on their devices.
The App Store on Iphone works in a related fashion. The users don’t sit their entering all their information. Why? Because 90% of the people wouldn’t do it, and of the 10% that may tediously bog through it, 9.9% get turned off when they have to repeatedly enter their address because they made a typo or something didn’t go through. So they say forget it, it’s too much hassle.
Unless you have a targeted product for cell phone users, I advise not using Cell Phone Cash until the bugs are worked out to effectively sell your affilliate programs to cell phone users.
