The BEST Network Marketing / Mlm Opportunity EVER
Is there anything worse than getting a surprise email from an out-of-control network marketer / MLMer?
It use to be the “3 foot rule”: anyone having a pulse that you come within three feet of, try to get that person into your business opportunity. Now, the rule has changed to: anytime you manage to get an email address immediately hit him/her with all you have. And, if you know that person is already an experienced network marketer / MLMer, OMG you have struck gold: get him/her into your business NOW.
Over the past week I have received more prospecting emails. Sound familiar:
Network Marketing Emailer: I would like you to check out my new website.
Translation: By urging you to check out my website, you will fall in love with my product / service and want to join my business.
Network Marketing Emailer: This is the Best Network Marketing Opportunity you will ever see. Ever.
Translation: By saying it is the BEST opportunity EVER, it should make you feel like what you are currently involved in is totally second rate compared to my opportunity.
Network Marketing Emailer: We can make you one of our top earning expert online marketers making 6 figures a month.
Translation: By making this hugei income statement I can make you feel like everything you have ever wanted is within reach. All you have to do is join my business.
Network Marketing Emailer: But you have to act fast as we are about to leave our pre-launch phase and we both know the explosive growth that is going to occur.
Translation: By providing a deadline I will definitely force you to sign up as fast as you can click through to my sales page. Who would not want to get in on a ground floor opportunity?
Give me a break along with the hundreds (thousands?) of others who grace your email list.
I decided to have a little fun so I responded to the email with a few questions of my own (the responses I received back are below my questions):
QUESTION: Sounds like a tremendous opportunity. How long have you been involved?
RESPONSE: I joined as soon as I heard about it two weeks ago but they have been in development for just over 2 years.
QUESTION: How many people have signed into your group over the past two weeks?
RESPONSE: We are not allowed to tell you this because so many have joined my group that it might seem like I am using this figure to entice you to join. (Great company line, right?)
QUESTION: You said in your initial email that your top earners were raking in 6 figures a month. Do you have a testimonial on some website I can look at or maybe an email address that I can contact them directly?
RESPONSE: No response.
First, if we are in a network marketing / MLM group, chances are pretty good we already have our own business and even if we wish to jump ship, we would probably prefer to jump on a ship that has been floating for a little while rather than one that has yet to be launched.
Second, we are immune to outrageous income claims. Chances are similar income claims were made to us to get us involved with our present primary business and we now realize that perhaps they were a tad unrealistic. So when it comes to income claims we probably zap off seventy to ninety percent.
Third, do not impose a deadline or else we will lose such a BEST opportunity EVER. If your opportunity is truly a worthwhile opportunity it will allow us to do our due diligence. If this is not possible, I will certainly pass.
Well, I have to run and check my email. Who knows, maybe there is a pre-launch email invitation to join a BETTER BEST opportunity EVER.
