I need help on how to motivate myself to promote my business as a independent dance instructor?
It is so hard for me to do. I am an independent dance teacher. I have several ads on Craigslist which I enjoy writing, but everything else like posting flyers at community boards, on door knobs or cars or handing them out in the financial district or at clubs; going to wedding event/fairs to network, putting a table at clubs to get people to sign up with their email (for a free pair of dance shoes or free lessons) or handing out business cards at social events are all good ways to market. But, I am having a hard time motivating myself to go out there and do it so to drum up business, How should I motivate myself to promote myself as a dance teacher to gain more clients for my business. Some good advice is welcomed and needed.
You have to trust in you! This is the first step that you must do. If you find it so hard to go out and speak up about your business, then do it all slowly: add a commercial on a web site, make a site(there are some sites that offers free web host) and ask your friend to google you. You can even ask a friend to help you put table at clubs, or pay some children to post flyers from you, in this way it will be easier for you. You need a marketing plan! Think about what you offer? What is that makes you special? Why are you the perfect dance instructor? And what you offer to the people? Begin by answering to this question and develop your strategy!
