Every MLM website or forum you visit today you can not notice it. Someone somewhere we’ll be mentioning a new company launch. Prelaunch here prelaunch there and pretty soon you start feeling that you are in Cape Canaveral. But besides the fun part and the hype that you notice daily, there are some good exceptions of companies that are destined to a bright future which can turn very profitable for the distributors with the good sense to join at this point.
Of course chances are that the majority of the start-up companies will fail. So the real question comes down to what is that which distinguishes a future success from a certain failure?
To some that is the one million dollar question, while others can cut on the money they spend to the fortunetellers.
Though I don’t profess to be a prognosticator, there are a few simple things that you can check out on a new company that if cannot pick a winner, surely can reveal a loser.
First of all, the most important thing you need to check is the owners and its management team. Learn their names and find out if they have any previous experience in the Multilevel Marketing industry or in any business at all. The more experience they have and the closer to our industry that is, the better. Also don’t forget to check out if there is anything negative at their past. If they lack integrity or you can’t trust them needless to say that you should stay away. It’s Incredible what you can find about almost anyone if you Google his name these days.
Second, check the compensation plan. It’s an important factor to the stability of the business and it’s future expansion. If it rewards too much the “big guns” compared to the average distributor, its expansion can pretty soon come to an halt and so it’s profitability. Make it the other way and there is no incentive for real progress, so it may never really take off in numbers and in profits, of course.
Third, although the product is not that important, what matters is the segment of the market that is targeting. Is this a market where demand exists? What is the competition? If there is no competition, why? If it’s fierce how the company is going to differentiate and brand the product so it would stand out from competition?
Fourth, is there a training program? Without one, new distributors, would really have a problem start making sales and in this case much of the training responsibility, if not all, would fall into your shoulders for those you sponsor. Which of course can cost you in more time that can cut off the expansion speed of your organization.

Arbonne® Secret #4: It offers several levels of participation. One may simply wish to be a “client” or “customer”, ordering either on-line or from a consultant.
One may wish to become a consultant, and sell Arbonne® products.
One may wish to lead a team of consultants.
Arbonne® Secret #5: Only a minimum investment is required, and it IS minimum. The website lists the basic starter kit as only costing $29, and contains enough products that anyone who may be interested in becoming a consultant can begin to become familiar with the merchandise and see how each thing works.
The company comes across as being very honest and open about its products, methods of conducting business, and other aspects of the organization. Consultants are expected to adhere to a “code of ethics”, which is printed on the website so that anyone can review it.
The company itself is considered a “secret”, as it is not currently as well known as Mary Kay® or Avon®. However, this is changing as more and more people discover it and begin to use the products.
It would appear that the Arbonne® secrets can actually be considered more as smart business practices. The actual Arbonne® website itself (not one of the ones posted by consultants advertising that they sell Arbonne® products), is, as mentioned earlier, very simple and direct in its approach.
One might say it is “refreshing”, as the site does not bombard the senses with pop-ups, flashing words, bold, intrusive advertisements, or other distractions. It merely presents the facts about the company, as well as information on the products.
Again, the thing that makes the website unique in its own way is its forthright, frank admission that it does take work to be successful. This is something that is not often seen in the MLM field, unfortunately, so when it does appear, it certainly makes for a nice change. It is hoped that Arbonne® continues this.

You know, having a lazy downline used to be the quickest route to grey hair and stomach complaints known to the MLM community. It’s true. It’s not an uncommon human failing to want the rewards of a large independent income stream such as the big-hitting MLM downline builders enjoy whilst doing next to nothing to attain it. In days gone by we’d say something trite to them like ‘the only place where success comes before work is in the dictionary.’
But now, it is possible to generate MLM leads, leveraging off a lazy downline, giving you and them exactly what they want. Sure it might cost them a little of their cash, but for a lazy downline the idea of having negligible work to do and zero rejection to face is very seductive. Why not give them that? They may become ambitious over time. but their unwillingness to ‘buy in’ on faith at the outset no longer means there’s no role for the lazy in your success. Bring them in!

Multi-level marketing (MLM) is also referred to as Network Marketing. The MLM is essentially a type of business model that combines direct marketing with franchising. The term business model describes a vast range of informal and formal models that are used by companies to represent various aspects of business, such as operational processes, organizational structures, and financial forecasts. The Mlm Business functions by enrolling unsalaried salespeople to sell products and meanwhile earn additional sales commissions based on the sales of people enrolled into their downline, an organization of people that includes direct recruits, recruits’ recruits and so on. This arrangement is similar to franchises where royalties are paid from the sales of individual franchise operations to the franchisor as well as to an area or region manager. There can be multiple levels of people receiving royalties from one person’s sales. New Mlm Members may be required to pay for their own training and marketing materials, or to buy a significant amount of inventory to start their career.
The compensation plans vary from one MLM business to the other, but there are basic plans in place. The Unilevel or Stairstep Breakaway plans are the oldest and most popular in the MLM business. These plans features two types of distributors either managers or non-managers. The pay method of these plans includes Baseshop overrides where there are overrides of managers from their subordinate non-managers. This method is the same as any other type of sales organization. Generational overrides are overrides of managers from the baseshop of managers who were previously their subordinate. Most plans compensate at least three generations of such managers. Executive bonuses are commissions for managers who exceed a posted sales quota. For example, 2% of the total company sales revenue may go to a bonus pool that is shared monthly to managers who exceed $10,000 in that month. Commissions are based on the aspect of cycles, where a distributor is paid a fixed amount whenever both legs achieve a certain number of sales units each. Commissions are paid incrementally when the sales volume in each leg matches.
In recent years, the MLM business has developed an image problem due to its resemblance to the illegal pyramid or other similar schemes. Mlm Businesses operate in the United States in all 50 states and in more than 100 other countries around the world. Many pyramid schemes try to present themselves as Legitimate Mlm businesses. In the Legitimate Mlm Companies, commissions are earned only on sales of the company’s products and/or services. No money may be earned from recruiting alone through sign-up fees, though money earned from the sales of members recruited is one attraction of MLM arrangements.
A commonly adopted test of legality is that MLMs follow the so-called 70% rule which prevents members “inventory loading” in order to qualify for additional bonuses. The 70% rule requires participants to sell 70% of previously purchased inventory before procuring new orders. There are however variations in interpretations of this rule. Some attorneys insist that 70% of purchased inventory should be sold to people who are not participants in the business, while many MLM companies allow for self-consumption to be a significant part of the sales of a participant. The Federal Trade Commission offers advice for potential MLM members to help them identify those activities that could be scams.

I know alot of people that love Avon and are always wanting to order something out of books. Check around at the local offices in town, the hospital offices….etc, anywhere where women work and see if you can leave your book. Tell them you would love to be their Avon representative and to call you with any questions. Also mention if they want to order, all they need to do is call you and let you know they have an order, or email you their order. I would host an Avon party. Invite your friends and family, but also ask them to bring a friend/or family member that you don’t really know, so you can be exposed in a more relaxed environment. Plus selling Avon is all about having contacts. The more people you represent, the better your business will do.
